Khalwah: A Solitary Sufi Retreat

 Modern lifestyle has grown and penetrates almost every corner of the world. It seems that religion has to accept the fact that modernization and all related to it such as, its philosophies, technologies and ideas are the real challenge for religion to grow in this area. Islam claims to be a religion of guidance or a guide to one who walks on the path of the truth, physically and spiritually.

Sufi retreat is practiced by some of the Tariqah an-Naqshabandiyyah al-Khalidiyyah in some parts in Malaysia. Tariqah is one of the oldest teaching of Islam and still being practiced by some Muslims. During the retreat all spiritual practices are meant to purify, cleanse and improve one’s spiritual dimension. It starts with repenting to the Almighty until endless dimension of self-realization is reached.
